A new series: MINI EXERCISE #1 (An invitation)
Hi Everyone,
We’re all getting busier—even in summer—and sometimes it’s difficult to tackle the longer writing or thinking prompts I send your way. For those days that you have time for just a quick hit, this series may work for you.
Here’s the first one, inspired by the last lines of a poem in Ada Limón’s new collection, THE HURTING KIND, which I highly recommend:
“Once I was brave, but I have grown so weary of danger.
I am soundlessness amid the constant sounds of war.”
YOUR MINI EXERCISE: Take these lines and fill your own words in the blanks:
Once I was _______, but I have grown so weary of _______.
I am _________ amid the constant sounds of _______.
Any discoveries here for you? Please feel free to share your versions.
Enjoy!
Abrazos,
Cristina
