Celebrating poets: ELISA GONZALEZ

I’m back with one of my favorite features of our newsletter: making a fuss over poets!

Recently, I read Grand Tour, Elisa Gonzalez’s dazzling debut volume of poetry. The late great poet Louise Glück captured its essence:

There is in Gonzalez's nature something volcanic, a sense of fire originating at a very great depth, so when it breaks the surface it breaks blazing.
