I learned so much about Colombian society in the 70s and loved the way she developed the story. I was mesmerized by a secondary character who inhabits the narrative weaving in and out like a whisper rather than a full-fledged protagonist.
I love her writing. It's lyrical and beautiful and challenging and pulls you into the world she has created.
