Hi Everyone,
I’d like to recommend a compelling new novel: KAIROS by Jenny Erpenbeck, a German writer who grew up in East Berlin and writes some of my favorite fiction coming out of the old Soviet bloc. This story is about obsession, exploitation, an illicit affair, the costs of totally surrendering to love, and is set in Berlin before the fall of the Wall.

I’m almost finished reading Berta Alias by Javier Marias. I love the beautiful prose, the characters , the insights and the ending. It is leaving me breathless. I don’t want it to finish.
