Thinking prompt #18: CREATIVITY & DESPAIR
Hi Everyone,
The iconic Japanese fashion designer Rei Kawakubo (founder of Comme des Garçons) has long-challenged the industry’s ideas about beauty. But her originality, she claims, comes at a cost. I thought the following quote from her might be useful in thinking about our own creative processes.
YOUR PROMPT: “Nothing new can come out of a situation without suffering,” Kawakubo says. “There is very little creation without despair.” Does this apply to you as a writer? If so, how does it inform your characters? Their unfolding dramas? What generates inspiration for you?
Trust your ruminations …
Abrazos,
Cristina
