Writing prompt #81: POWER & FORGIVENESS
Hi Everyone,
I hope these early days of 2023 are inspiring fresh possibilities for your work. The following quote from Polish poet Zbigniew Herbert inspired the next prompt:
“And do not forgive it is not in your power
to forgive in the name of those betrayed at dawn …”
YOUR PROMPT: In the world that you are creating, or recreating, what is unforgivable? Name the theft that persists to this day no matter the attempts at erasure, obfuscation, oblivion. The theft that is at the heart of the story you’re trying to tell. It might be personal, familial, cultural, national . . . but it exists. Hold your gaze on it until you can begin to speak its truth.

Good luck!
