Here’s your thinking prompt for today:

Is it just me or does a lot of what we look at every day seem exhaustive and overexposed? Too much information lacking in nuance or sufficient context to render it meaningful?

As writers, it’s incumbent upon us to strike that artful balance between revelation and mystery. Carefully selecting the precise details that will reverberate with implication instead of bombarding us with “facts.” Focusing on a pivotal scene with need-to-know specifics, avoiding the overly-wrought.

I believe it’s always advisable to assume the highest intelligence of our readers. Resist the urge to overexplain. Less is often more.
