Thinking prompt #28: HOPE
Hi Everyone,
Like many of you, I’m desperately concerned about climate change.
Recently, I picked up an anthology by Rebecca Solnit and Thelma Young Lutunatabua titled Not Too Late: Changing the Climate Story from Despair to Possibility. I recommend it to everyone who wants to do something but doesn’t know where to begin.
That said, the book got me thinking about the power of hope. Here’s a quote from one of its essays:
“To hope is to embrace uncertainty, knowing the bad guys have not won yet.”
What about your characters? Are they living in current times and dealing with climate change? How is this affecting them, their relationships, their plans for the future, their dreams? What role, if any, is hope playing in their lives?
This is your thinking prompt for this week, on the page—and off.
Abrazos,
Cristina
