Writing prompt #105: SUBJECTIVITY & THE MOMENT
Hi Everyone,
We’ve done variations of this prompt in the past but it’s important enough to re-emphasize. Allow me to quote a French yogi-philosopher, Éric Baret, whose observations apply to writers, too:
“I simply notice that my capacity for analysis is conditioned by my emotional, intellectual, or professional life. Depending on whether I have a raging toothache or I am in vibrant health, my capacity for reasoning will be different. I approach things differently if I’m in love or if I have just been rejected …”
YOUR PROMPT: Choose an existing scene from work-in-progress that isn’t quite singing the way you’d like (yet). Try radically changing the mood and/or your character’s circumstances then rewrite the scene. Chronicle the changes down to the smallest details.
Good luck with this one!
Abrazos,
Cristina
