Writing prompt #106: PRETENDING

Hi Everyone,

I’ll get right to this one …

YOUR PROMPT: Choose a character who so desperately wants to hide something, be somebody else, pretend to have more than they do (money, love, respect) that they lie about it. What are they gaining? Losing? To whom are they lying? Do they get away with it? If so, for how long? Are they ever found out? Is there another kind of reckoning?

Feel free to write any aspect of this that’s interesting to you and serves your work.
