Writing prompt #107: UNSPOKEN
Hi Everyone,
The famous British playwright Harold Pinter once wrote:
“There are two silences. One when no word is spoken. The other when perhaps a torrent of language is being employed. This speech is speaking of a language locked beneath it.”
YOUR PROMPT: Write a scene with dialogue that illustrates the two types of silences Pinter describes. One person remains silent (though we may be privy to their unspoken thoughts) while the other unleashes a torrent of words meant to cover up what they do not say.
Alternatively: try writing separate scenes for your main character(s) demonstrating the type of silence they habitually deploy.
Good luck with this one!
Abrazos,
Cristina
