Hi Everyone,
Here’s a concept that may be helpful to you in creating fresh, unexpected work: ekphrasis.
Definition: The word ekphrasis, or ecphrasis, comes from the Greek for the written description of a work of art produced as a rhetorical or literary exercise, often used in the adjectival form ekphrastic. It is a vivid, often dramatic, verbal description of a visual work of art, either real or imagined.
YOUR PROMPT: Use the image below (borrowed from The Ekphrastic Review) as a springboard for your own writing. Your response can be as long or short as you wish, direct or oblique, a jumping off point into the specificity of your creative world.
Or feel free to choose your own arresting image.
Enjoy!
Abrazos,
Cristina
A seductive prompt. Got me thinking out of the box immediately. Love this image as metaphor.
