Writing prompt #113: WITH FRESH EYES
Hi Everyone,
I’ve been reading a book that writer Jesus Sierra recommended to us last year, World Enough & Time, On Creativity and Slowing Down by Christian McEwen. I’d like to share one of her “tactics” for eliciting new writing:
“The English naturalist Roger Deakin used to walk around his area of Suffolk, describing what he saw to an imaginary medieval friend. If you had such a friend, what would you point out to him or her?”
YOUR PROMPT: Choose one of your principal characters and have them give a detailed tour of their world (neighborhood, home, other) to a person from another time period. What would be crucial to convey? Translate? Explain?
Have fun with this one!
Abrazos,
Cristina
