Writing prompt #38: KINTSUGI AND THE ART OF REPAIR
Hi Everyone,
Lately, I’ve been doing research on the Japanese art of kintsugi. It involves restoring broken pottery by emphasizing the repair, ultimately illuminating the history of its damage with gold. Through this process, a broken piece is made whole again without neglecting its past—and is often stronger after the repair than it was in its original condition.
Here’s an example:
YOUR PROMPT: Ernest Hemingway said: “The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places.” Choose one of your characters who’s been broken. Describe that specific brokenness, how it came about, how it persists, and, most importantly, its specific resiliences.
Please feel free to post how this goes!
Abrazos,
Cristina
