Writing prompt #42: THE PERIODIC TABLE
Hi Everyone,
One of my all-time favorite short story collections is Primo Levi’s THE PERIODIC TABLE. A trained chemist (and Auschwitz survivor), Levi embroiders his tales with the specialized knowledge of his trade. Sometimes the “element” is central to a story, more often it’s peripheral, but each and every tale is enriched sensorily and metaphorically by it.
YOUR PROMPT: Study the periodic table and investigate the properties of one or more elements that intrigue you. How can you work one of these elements into an existing—or perhaps even new—piece? What might it offer that’s utterly unexpected?
Enjoy!
Abrazos,
Cristina
