Writing prompt #85: ON SEEING, One Girl's Growing Up
Hi Everyone,
The photographer Howard Schatz has an ongoing series in which he documents children growing up into young adulthood. The images are striking, allowing us to see, in flash-forward progression, the children’s development. But perhaps even more interesting to me, as a writer, are the comments each subject makes about their lives. Have a look at the story of one girl:

YOUR PROMPT: Choose one of your characters and delve into their early history. Select about five junctures (or more) and let us hear them talking about themselves, in their own age-appropriate language. These pieces needn’t be long but their timing is crucial. In fact, they might suggest a blueprint of key flashbacks for possible use in your work. In short, try this as an experiment in sifting through essential back story.
Please let me know how this goes!
Abrazos,
Cristina
