Writing prompt #92: LOST & FOUND

Hi Everyone,

I’m baaaack! Let’s pick up where we left off …

Do you ever have the experience of going to look for one thing and finding another? It could be an object, an experience, a place … something hiding in plain sight? Possibly even a person?

YOUR PROMPT: Write a scene in which your character(s) gets detoured from their intended destination. This could be as minor as heading to the kitchen and getting distracted by something in the hallway. Or perhaps they go to a foreign country with a specific intent and their plan is utterly derailed. The circumstances don’t need to be elaborate—although they can be—but the implications, and the potential for a life pivot, should be substantial.
