Writing prompt #96: WHAT WE CARRY
Hi Everyone,
I’d like to quote poet Aracelis Girmay as a springboard for today’s prompt:
“ I want to know what to do
with the dead things we carry.”
YOUR PROMPT: Choose one of your characters and ask them what they’re carrying. Which ancestors? Unhealed wounds? Love gone awry? Inheritances they only dimly perceive but still feel in their flesh? Go ahead and write up their answers as a list but try to be as specific as possible. Knowing what your characters are carrying is the first step toward understanding what to do with their burdens. Repeat, as necessary.
Good luck!
Abrazos,
Cristina
