Hope you’re all doing well and enjoying your summer so far. Today’s post is about catching up on multiple fronts:
1) Starting this week, I’m going to post one writing prompt on Thursdays only. A few of you have told me that the prompts are coming a bit too fast and furiously to keep up. There’ve been 30 prompts since late March so please revisit the ones you’ve missed.
2) This coming Sunday 7/18 (1 PM ET /10 AM PT) we’re going to Zoom with author MARISEL VERA, whose gorgeous historical novel A TASTE OF SUGAR is now in paperback.
For more info on Marisel, please visit her website: https://www.mariselvera.com
To purchase her book: https://www.indiebound.org/book/9781631497735
I’ll be sending out a Zoom link two days before the event. All are invited so please feel free to share with friends.
3) I’m also toying with the idea of hosting a live Zoom Q & A on craft and other literary matters. We could talk shop and get to know each other! How does the first Sunday of the month sound? If there’s enough interest—please let me know by posting here—I’ll schedule the first one.
4) Here are a few links to interesting literary and publishing organizations with information on jobs, submission deadlines, and writing retreats:
LATINX IN PUBLISHING: https://latinxinpublishing.com
LAMBDA LITERARY: https://www.lambdaliterary.org
CREATIVE CAPITAL: https://creative-capital.org
DRAMATISTS GUILD: https://www.dramatistsguild.com
5) CRAFT QUESTIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME! Please post yours here and I promise to respond in the form of writing prompts for all.
Stay tuned for this coming Thursday’s writing prompt (#31) on politics and literature. And if you haven’t done so yet, please subscribe to get the full roster of Las Dos Brujas Newsletter offerings.
Thanks—and looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!
I would love to join "a live Zoom Q & A on craft and other literary matters" and I love the idea that "we could talk shop and get to know each other!" Also the first Sunday of the month sounds good. Set the date, and I'll be there!
So far, so good! Are there others who are interested in a regular Q & A? Please let me know here. I'd love to get at least 8-10 people interested. Thank you!
Count me in for a regular meet-up!
Looking forward to the zoom with Marisel Vera. And would love to join the Q&A when you schedule, first Sunday of the month sounds good.

I’m looking forward to Marisel’s event and yes, I love the idea of a monthly craft and literary matters talk.
Thanks, Genevieve!
Thank you for inviting me, Cristina! Can’t wait!
Excited!
