Hi Everyone,
The superbly talented poet Natasha Tretheway, whom I’ve highlighted before, has also written a searing memoir—MEMORIAL DRIVE—about the life (and loss) of her mother. I urge you to read this important, beautiful work.
Here’s a link to her website:

And a clip of her reading:
Enjoy!

Memorial Drive is one of the best books I've read in several years. I was never a big memoir reader but this one pulled me in with its lyricism and it's pain. Her poetic voice lifts it from a painful memory to so much more. It started me down a long road of reading the memoirs of women I admire--Viola Davis, Cicely Tyson, Quiara Alegria Hudes and others. I highly recommend it as well.
