Hi Everyone, Recently, a line in Günter Grass’s novel FAR AFIELD—which captures the complex aftermath of the Berlin Wall’s fall—caught my attention: “No border holds forever.” It made me think of the very real borders we navigate daily, both temporally (past, present, future) as well as artistically/fictionally. What are the crucial borders that divide us—and our characters? When, why, and how do they manage to cross the borders that previously kept them in check?
I love this one. The idea is already growing in my mind but I will need a quieter time to give it its due merit. I'll file it for a few days and come back to it after the rush of the holidays is over. Thanks for the prompt. I needed it.
